Dogwood for a Spring Wedding

I can’t tell exactly what it is, but there is something about dogwood flowers that I findĀ  very exciting.
What I know for sure is that I love the affinity of dogwood and magnolia – blooms appear en masse before leaves cover the tree.
Petals (bracts, actually) have personality and charm and I am enamored with the shades of the rubra variety.

Making them in gumpaste was a real pleasure for me (as for every flower I make) and I can’t stop myself from imagining those lovely blossoms adorning a spring wedding cake, conveying delicate beauty and elegance to it.
